Discusses the development of computer mediated communication (CMC) as a major method of communication both in and between organizations. Examines the effect of CMC within organizations, in terms of individual and group relationships. Highlights advantages and disadvantages of CMC and the effect it has had on roles within organizations. Concludes that further investigation into the impact of CMC on working environments and society is needed.
