File not available for download.Abstract
To mark the thirtieth anniversary of its foundation in 1977, Yorkshire Sculpture Park gave Simon Armitage a residency. Armitage noted that the poems that he wrote during the period largely fell into two groupings. The first consisted of 'anecdotal, prose-looking things, like little stories', and the second translations of the Wakefield Mystery Plays into contemporary colloquial verse. This elegant volume intersperses these works with evocative colour photographs of the venues within YSP where Armitage delivered his Twilight Readings, like the Camellia House and the Deer Shelter Skyspace, as well as black and white images of the wordsmith's drafts.
