Abstract
There is a passion for knowledge at the heart of ethics. The authors of this book share that passion. They know what ethics is. They know what needs to be done in mathematics and its education to make it ‘good’. They know how to convey their good ethics to teachers. In this chapter, I interrogate not what authors know, which seems to be set in stone, but what they want, what they desire. Through this interrogation I aim to illuminate the ethical and political bearings of contemporary mathematics education research.
